The Three little Pigs.

Hi Everybody,

Last week we started our fairy tale theme by reading "The three little pigs". This was a great opportunity to learn about farm animals and gave us a chance to practice our creative role playing skills. The class really loved the story and we read it again and again, each time the class shouted out the lines for the different characters louder and LOUDER!!!
We painted some water colour farmyard scenes and played farm animal sounds bingo before getting into the messy business of painting our pigs...with mud...using our hands!

Our clothes peg pigs were gorgeous. Making their tails curly was a little tricky but we got there in the end!

Next we had a go at building our very own piggy house. The class were really excited to decorate the walls using "straw", "sticks" and "bricks"  and we all felt very safe and cosy until the big bad wolf came a huffing and puffing...

We had fun making 3-D lollipop stick houses.

And then it was time to make our house collage. The class were really great at remembering which order the houses came in and used lots of different techniques to make their pictures...
From slow and methodical ...

                                   To  freestyle!

We made some wonderful big bad wolf puppets

And then used them to practice our counting (but mostly chase each other around the playground) in a big game of "Whats the time MrWolf ?"

We had a great time in the splash pool this week throwing the balls and practicing our swimming and the weather has been great to enjoy some outdoor time.

All aboard the jeep to Koh Samui!!!
