Under the sea

Hello Nursery friends and family,

We have had a lovely first week exploring our under the sea theme. We looked at some creatures which live in rock pools and on the beach. We are so lucky to be living in a part of the world where we can travel to the seaside fairly easily and and its so nice for them to be able to share their experiences with the class.  Lots of Nursery already recognise crabs, sharks and dolphins and they have been really excited to learn more about creatures like jellyfish, octopus  and sea horses.
We have been fishing, counting legs and building homes for hermit crabs. The class had fun learning how some creatures protect themselves from predators and after covering our starfish in sand we decided to bury a whole selection of sea creatures in the sand pit and then dig them up again.
The sea is full of wonderful creatures to explore so we will continue this theme for another couple of weeks. If you have any books, toys or pictures related to this theme that you would like to share with the class we would love to see them! Also the class have loved sorting and counting shells so if you have any of those or other beach artifacts, please bring them in - Thanks!

Also, thank you to Fabien for sharing his lovely beach themed books and to Panboon who brought in some fantastic pictures of her being very brave and touching some penguins, dolphins and sealions!
We love to hear about your adventures outside of school!

Here some pics of our week...

Easter week

Welcome back to term 3!

From all the excited chatter today it sounds like everyone had a fantastic Songkran break. I heard tales of  aeroplanes and crocodiles, snorkelling and long tail boats and lots of beaches, which is perfect because our next topic is "under the sea"! It's really great to see the class so eager to catch up with friends and share their news. We've had a lovely first day back  :-)

At the end of last term we celebrated the beginning of spring and Easter with lots of colourful flower and egg crafts. We talked about how spring is the time when lots of baby animals are born and beautiful flowers bloom and went on a scavenger hunt for pretty flowers to use in our spring "Somtam". We also had flower tea and pancakes...

We had some fun mixing up colours and making bubble wrap print Easter eggs.

The class were surprised by some of the animals other than birds which could lay eggs and we agreed that we wouldn't want to eat a crocodile egg for breakfast, well most of us did!

Exploring eggs and playing egg toss.

We made some super cute chick baskets...  So we were lucky that the Easter Bunny had left some surprises for us in the playground!

Using crepe paper to dye our eggs all the colours of the rainbow.....

Farewell and end of term Party.

It was sad to say goodbye to Poom and we will miss his sweet nature and cheerful smile. We wish him all the best in his new school  and know he will make lots of new friends there.

Goodbye Poom!!!!
