Under the sea

Hello Nursery friends and family,

We have had a lovely first week exploring our under the sea theme. We looked at some creatures which live in rock pools and on the beach. We are so lucky to be living in a part of the world where we can travel to the seaside fairly easily and and its so nice for them to be able to share their experiences with the class.  Lots of Nursery already recognise crabs, sharks and dolphins and they have been really excited to learn more about creatures like jellyfish, octopus  and sea horses.
We have been fishing, counting legs and building homes for hermit crabs. The class had fun learning how some creatures protect themselves from predators and after covering our starfish in sand we decided to bury a whole selection of sea creatures in the sand pit and then dig them up again.
The sea is full of wonderful creatures to explore so we will continue this theme for another couple of weeks. If you have any books, toys or pictures related to this theme that you would like to share with the class we would love to see them! Also the class have loved sorting and counting shells so if you have any of those or other beach artifacts, please bring them in - Thanks!

Also, thank you to Fabien for sharing his lovely beach themed books and to Panboon who brought in some fantastic pictures of her being very brave and touching some penguins, dolphins and sealions!
We love to hear about your adventures outside of school!

Here some pics of our week...
