Around the world

Hello everyone,
We have had a really busy week and it's great to have all the class back together again. Nursery are continuing to explore new countries and cultures and the class are really enjoying learning a little about how other people live. Food and music around the world have been especially fun to discover and we have had some wonderful dancing sessions this week!  On Monday we looked at some amazing Native American tribal dances. We painted some teepees and made beautiful feather headdresses and had our own Powwow- I wish I had some video to show you some of the fabulous rain dances that Nursery made up, it was so much fun!

In Italy we called our friends round for dinner and made some scrummy looking pizza and pasta dishes. Nursery really loved cooking for their classmates and dancing the "tarantella"!

We had a quick trip to Japan, ate some sushi and made some beautiful sakura prints...

And finally we travelled to India where we scooped, poured and mixed up some beans and pulses to cook up some delicious curries and the beautiful Indian Saris inspired us to dress up and boogie along to some Bollywood classics- again, sorry no video :(  I will try to have my camera at the ready next time!

For International day on Friday 21st February we will be celebrating all things Japanese, so if you have any Japanese themed books, toys, pictures, etc.we would love to see them. Unfortunately there will be no show this year but we will still be having a Japanese themed party so please dress your child up! You are very welcome to bring a snack for the children to share- anything Japanese would be great but any International style finger foods are also very welcome, particularly if you have a national dish you'd like to share with us :)
