Dear Parents
I welcome
you and your children to Year One! We
have had a great start to the year!
In English,
we will be writing explanation texts about how things work.
In
Mathematics, we will be focusing on counting to 20 and addition.
Our first inquiry
topic is ‘All About Me’. We will be
looking at our favourite things and comparing them with others. This topic will end in children giving a
presentation about themselves.
In PE, children
will be learning basic ball handling skills and how to swim. PE is on
Wednesdays. Please wear your PE kits to school. Swimming is on Fridays. Please bring in
your swim suits, swimming hats and a towel.
It is very
important your child remembers to bring a hat.
As of tomorrow, there will be a ‘no hat, no play’ policy in which your
child will not be allowed to play if they do not wear a hat in the
playground.
