Today, Y1C played Cricket during PE.  They had a marvellous time!

Today, Y1C used plants to create animals.  It was great fun!

Weekly Review and Preview

Y1 Weekly Update: Tuesday 18th April - Friday 21st April

 

	This Week	Next week
English	We have been focusing on rhyming words and starting to write poetry.	We will work on different types of poetry.
Maths	We have revised the number bonds to ten and used these to help us add.	We will find 1 more, 1 less, 10 more and 10 less than any 2-digit number.
Topic	We have started our new inquiry topic, ‘Plants sustain life on Earth and play a role in our lives’ by looking at plants and drawing pictures of them.  Also, we played plant  games online.	We will begin an investigation about what plants need to grow.
PSHE	We have reflected on the Songkran holiday.	We will be drawing pictures of things we can do to help us if we feel unhappy or worried.
Optional Homework	Bring in leaves of all shapes and sizes to use in an art project next week!
Notices and Events	Homework will be given out on Monday and is due in on Friday. Mr Renie’s weekly newsletter is posted on  http://ascoteypynews.blogspot.com/ . You are still welcome to come and chat to me about your child on Mondays between 3.10pm and 4.00pm.   Miss Yell is helping in our class this term in order to provide more individualised attention to each child.

Optional Homework	As part of our new Inquiry unit, please bring in plants/leaves/flowers or photos of these from home.

As part of our Inquiry, Y1C drew what they thought plants looked like and then checked if they were right and tried again.
