Weekly Review and Preview

Y1 Weekly Update: Monday 23rd January - Friday 27th January

	This Week	Next Week
English	We have read fantasy stories and have described settings.	We will be making up fantasy places and characters.
Maths	We have subtracted using objects and number lines.	We will ensure we know the number bonds to 20.  Also, we will spend more time on adding and possibly subtracting.
Topic	We have tested our plastic bottle boats to see if they float.	We are going to show children in Reception how to use different materials to build cars.
PSHE	We talked about only saying nice things to people.	We will continue to think about how to treat others.
Optional Homework	Create a subtraction number puzzle like the Elmer the Elephant one we completed on Thursday.
Notices and Events	The last date to to order books from Scholastic is by 9am on Friday 3rd February. Please bring in any recyclable materials to use next week.  This could be: Plastic bottles Newspaper Egg cups Etc Homework will be given out on Monday and is due in on Friday.
