Weekly Review and Preview

Y1 Weekly Update: Monday 16th January - Friday 20th January

 

	This Week	Next Week
English	We have written reports about looking after a pet and lists about birthday food.	We will be starting a new unit on adventure stories.
Maths	We learnt the names of the 3D shapes and different Thai Baht coin and note denominations.	We will be focusing on subtraction.
Topic	We tested the different houses we made to see if a toy animal could fit inside them, whether they stayed standing during wind and whether the toy animal got wet during rain.	We have started to make boats out of plastic bottles and will be testing these to see how well they float.
PSHE	We talked about the importance of saying please and thank you, and completed roleplays to show when these words should be said.	We will consider how important facial and body language is when talking to others.
Optional Homework	Make up a cartoon about someone who goes on an adventure.
Notices and Events	Our Chinese New Year celebration is on Friday 27th January. Please bring in any recyclable materials to use in the next couple of weeks.  This could be: Plastic bottles Newspaper Egg cups Etc Homework will be given out on Monday and is due in on Friday.
