Y1 Weekly Update: Monday 6th January - Friday 13th January

 

	This Week	Next Week
English	We have written non-chronological reports about materials.	We will write reports about looking after a pet and birthday food.
Maths	We looked at number bonds and addition.	We will be naming 3D shapes and looking at the different coin denominations.
Topic	We investigated the properties of materials and created houses out of different materials.	We will test if our houses can fit a toy animal inside and stay standing during rain and wind.
PSHE	We talked about healthy food choices.	We will talk about appropriate language.
Optional Homework	Can you find examples of these 3D shapes: cube, cuboid, sphere?
Notices and Events	As part of our Inquiry unit, during the week after next, we will be investigating which materials float and using these to make boats.  Please bring in any empty plastic bottles to help us to do this.  Thank you.
