This week in Nursery we have been looking at where we live. We started the week by talking about houses, and discovered that there are all kinds of different places that people can live in. The class loved looking at the how some people live in other parts of the world and many people can't wait to move into their very own lighthouse, teepee or Igloo! We also watched a cartoon version of the town mouse and the country mouse and made some beautiful city skylines, just like Bangkok (but even more colourful!)
For our country, We talked about things which make Thailand special like Tuk-Tuks, rice, farmers and elephants. The class were really excited about making the Thai flag and wanted me to play the national anthem over and over so they could stand and wave them, which is strange because we hear it everyday and the hardly pay any attention to it usually! I was really surprised and impressed that a few of the class could even find Thailand on the world map.
On Friday we learnt a bit about our amazing planet, Earth. The class looked at the globe and were able to identify the land and sea.We talked about how everyone and everything we had already looked at was on the Earth and it was great to hear the kids volunteering the names of all the animals and people they knew to see if they were on there too!
Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who managed to make it to Sports day on Saturday. Despite all the distractions and excitement the class managed to stay together and and listen to the instructions really well. We all had a great time and everyone really joined in with the events enthusiastically. Well done NP! Mummies and daddies you were great too-I especially enjoyed the parents dress up! You really helped make it a fun and special day for all the children. Thank you all!
